Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

By far the most underrated country in terms o tourism. Bhutan is a special,unique place for an indiviual to visit. A destination not only to attain Nirvana, spirituality but to explore hidden gems of this wonderful land.
Here are some of the reasons which make this place a special.
1. Happiness
Bhutan is a country where prosperity and progress is measured by the Happiness of it's citizen. Instead of GDP, Gross Happiness index is taken into reference while making any policies or programs. This is what makes it so special,seeking happiness? they don't need to search for it. It invented the idea of using happiness index for good governance.
2. Environment
Bhutan is the only carbon negative country in the world. The forest cover is estimated 72 percent approximately. They give priority to sustainable development and environmental practices in comaprison
to India which ranks the lowest in the list of environmental friendly countries.
3. A young democracy
As in 2008, the king decided to introduce a system of democracy in Bhutan where the parliamentary elections were held for the first time,Which makes it the youngest democracy in the world till now. In just under a year more than 500 women participated in the democracy.
4. Lack of traffic signals
There are no traffic signals in Bhutan, not even in the capital city Thimphu. The negative point is that it makes people to ignore traffic rules, safety measures.

These people not even kill cockroches they simple held them and leave them anywhere else or into woods. 75% of the people practices Bhuddhism which makes non violence an integral part. The crime rates are the lowest in Bhutan.
7.Free Healthcare and Education
As reflected in it's constitution, the basic healthcare is free in the country.Each citizen of the country has the right to take medication and treatments for free, child immunization rate is almost 100%. The overall literacy rate here is almost 60%.
